I very casually practice qigong, and I guess specifically zhang zhuang? I think that's how these categorically stack, at any rate. It's all an extremely casual linking of "I can't win when it comes to flavors of exercise"[1] and "posture is important" wherein I will often work in the wuji stance within my day and occasionally other stances, all for varying untimed lengths. This is all to get to the title of this post, which is related to the wuji stance.
knees! Have you ever thought about how the affect your center of gravity and where your body's weight ends up pressing the most on your foot? It's wild how just moving your knees slightly further apart, or closer together, or squatting slightly to push the knees forward affects your stance and its stability. With good posture and a little focus, you can really play with it and feel the shift on the soles of your feet, it's Neat.
I get so bored! Or they're like, "you must do this three times a week" or "every other day till you die" or "here's the only way to get swole" and the vibe's all off, man. I just wanna sporadically think deeply about how my body moves and do fun things outside, and not commit to the ~lifestyle~ or whatever they're selling or be strong for strong's sake so here I am DIYing something feral, I guess ↩︎
