Last night we stayed up late.[1] We were getting ready for bed when Em heard that it was another big magnetic storm, so we had to pop out and check and were Rewarded with the clearest skies:
Having learned from our (mostly cloudy) experiences and others' during that Huge magnetic storm earlier in the year we knew what to look for, and once our eyes adjusted we could faintly see color and even ribbons!! The long exposure really caught it in all its famous glory, but the hint we could gather into our own eyeballs was a mystery and delight nonetheless.
Plus, it was so clear we got to catch several shooting stars, countless other stars, and the band of the milky way. Snuggled up and just standing under the sky is truly a delight
oh--one more for the road: the sunrise this morning:
for the record: we were still in bed by 10, lol ↩︎
