So Bluey. Good show, excellent times, I uh. haven't actually seen most of it despite Gooseberry having seen all of it multiple times at this point.
It's extremely funny to know a lot about it thru the lense of a kid who is still wrapping her tongue around enunciation--an australian accent goes in her head and comes out her mouth... surprisingly.
Easy: Bartleby, the 18 inch doll with barbie vibes, becomes "bottle-bee". Easy enough to figure out and get info on when she says she too wants a bottlebee for christmas[1]
Hard: the creature Goose calls "turtlemax". I didn't even know what it looked like, just that it was a funny toy that maybe cropped up often enough to be a running joke. Googling "turtlemax bluey" generally brought me to an episode with a stuffed turtle. Just dropping the turtle bit entirely brought some weeding, but showing pictures revealed the solution: chattermax, the lisa frank/furby conglomorate with a, idk, hamsterdance analogue? I had to go and find a clip of bluey talking about the toy and, yeah, ok. That's an extremely funny bit of filtering going on in my kid's head.
two side notes: 1) christmas in australia tickles me--a huge part of this episode is a pool party. 2) the bluey toy line had like one (1) run of a bluey-and-bartlebee set. The bartlebee from this, sized for the little figures, goes for, while not truly shocking sums when loose, high enough on ebay to go, "hmmmmm, maybe not for something mass produced and roughly one inch tall" ↩︎
