Been building and tidying lego recently. It's been nice to be able to create and have a tactile thing to do! I basically always default to "make a robot" cuz they're Just Great, so I decided to branch out and make a different kind of robot: a forklift. There are actual forklift assemblies from Lego, but I don't have one and for both halves plus the rubber band it's like $6 or $7 from lego pick a brick. My fork is only OK, but I'm quite happy with the scale and shape of the cab--it's solidly minifig scale, especially with it compared to one of their car sets

It was fun doing a little shapemachine! I should branch out more and do more solid assemblies like this. I wanted to get the back wheels to spin, but I couldn't figure out a compact way to have something rotating within a 2x2 square since the little turntables are square on the antistud side.
Of course, I had to also build robots. I'll have to get pics of one still[1], but this one's fun: I tried to match the colors and design sensibilities of the city space theme sets and have a mech that interfaced with their backpacks, which have a whole 2x2 plate to build off of. I think the body and legs match pretty well, but the arms kinda fall off into some other territory. It's worth it tho, for the cute little robo mittens its got.
The shoulders are actually taken almost straight from their spacescooter polybag; I thought about leaving them as rotateable rocket assemblies, but that got in the way of posing the arms. They're fully stabilized with cross axles, letting the arms move much easier.
