I have two knitting patterns published on Ravelry. I wouldn't mind putting more out there, except for the fact I kinda burnt myself out on the whole writing-patterns-thing with my last overly elaborate sculpture[1]. This isn't about that, tho; this is about how I opened reddit this morning and was greeted with a photo of something extremely familar: my korok!
I occasionally check in on the pattern itself to see FOs, but I've never seen any outside of Rav, let alone organically. I'm pretty chuffed.
it did remind me I used my irl name in releasing patterns; it makes sense but also surprises me every time, making me wanna go and change it out 🤷
this B. griseocolis here; it has movable mouthparts. The burnout came when I tried to balance my terse, old school "trust the pattern" writing with something more in vogue[2] plus providing photos. I might return to it someday and edit it down as "mean" as I want ↩︎
read: hand holding with paragraphs of what to see, expect, etc, links to YT videos showing the whole process, etc. These are all good things, but not for me. I don't really think teaching how to do a technique is a pattern's job--just defining it ↩︎
